Hours of Operation: Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 am to 12:00 pm and Saturdays (2nd and 4th only) 8:30 am to 10:30 am. You must sign in no later than 20 minutes before closing to be served. Shopping visits are permitted every 2 weeks. Clients at our food bank self-shop which allows you to select food products your family will enjoy. Limits are clearly marked on shelves based on the size of your household and volunteers will be happy to assist you with any questions. Small families have 1-3 members and large families have 4 or more members. In an effort to be “green†we will provide you (free of charge) reusable bags that you will be required to bring with you each time you shop. These bags will be assigned to you at your first visit according to the number of members in your household. Bringing your bags with you is a requirement to shop. Each December, you will be required to complete and sign our annual client information and agreement form. These forms enable us to better serve your household’s needs and plan for holiday programs. New Milford Food Bank - A program of New Milford Social Services for local families and individuals who are in need of food. The Food Bank offers income eligible residents one bag of non-perishable food weekly. Donated bakery items, seasonal fresh produce from local farms, and meals from The Community Culinary School of Northwestern CT are also made available to participants. Participants are counseled by a social worker before registering. The Food Bank of Marlborough serves qualified residents of Marlborough, Connecticut. The hours of operation are 10 am to noon and 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Tuesdays, and the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to noon (donations only). Town of Colchester Youth & Social Services Department - Food Bank
Youth & Social Services works to eliminate hunger in Colchester by providing food and other necessities to our most vulnerable neighbors in a dignified and respectful manner. On average, the food bank serves 150-200 families providing 5,000-6,000 pounds of food each month! Our goal is to provide residents with staples that supplement their regular monthly shopping. Our food bank allows people to choose their own items rather than pre-packing bags for families. This reduces waste and allows for personal preferences to be considered. The food bank is available to any Colchester resident who is in financial need; regardless of age, job status or family size. The items that we purchase with the funds that are generously donated include: milk, bread, meat, fresh fruits & vegetables, cereal, oatmeal, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, beans, mac & cheese, soup, toothpaste, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. We also belong to the Gemma Moran Food Bank in New London. Each week three of our dedicated volunteers drive to New London to select foods for our food bank. These are usually fresh and frozen foods and often include meat, produce, dairy items (cold juices, yogurt, etc.), prepared frozen foods and other other surplus items. Our volunteers also pick up the "day old" baked goods from our local Stop & Shop and Starbuck's stores each week. Additionally, vouchers for the Colchester farmer's market are provided throughout the season.

Founded in 1967 as the Windsor Community Service Council in Windsor, CT, the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank is a non-profit organization of concerned private volunteer citizens. The goal of the WCSC is to help people in need in the Town of Windsor. The Council is an advocate for those in need and their mission is to make sure that no person goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities. In working closely with the Town of Windsor through the Social Services Division, the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank provides: The Windsor Food Bank, Emergency assistance with utilities through the Windsor Fuel Bank, Providing emergency funding for other basic needs. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc.
The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc., a fully recognized I.R.C. 501 (c) (3) charity, is lower Fairfield County’s primary hunger-relief organization. We provide food to more than 85 non-profit agencies and programs that serve low income people in our six town service area through bags of groceries and congregate meals. These include soup kitchens, food pantries, child care programs, homeless shelters, senior centers, domestic violence safe houses, and rehabilitation programs. During 2013, The Food Bank distributed 2,341,421 pounds of food to its member agencies at a savings to them of more than $3.7 million over the wholesale cost of the food. These agencies reported serving over 4 million meals to more than 150,000 individuals (unduplicated only within each agency) during this period. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Inc. originated in 1984 as an agency of the Council of Churches and Synagogues. In January 2003, The Food Bank became an independent entity with its own board of directors. The Food Bank is a Connecticut non-profit corporation that is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Food Bank’s mission is to provide nutritious food to non-profit organizations that feed the hungry in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, and Wilton while seeking to raise awareness of,and promote action to combat, hunger in those communities.
